What is your opinion on blotting to this degree? CLIFTON — Locally grown, wild-caught and cage-free are cornerstones of healthy meal preparation at one Clifton-based meal delivery business. The gourmet meal delivery service, Elite Lifestyle Cuisine (ELC), is the brainchild of International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) award winner and "Muscle Chef" Carlo Filippone. Using his personal recipes, he and a small team of chefs craft hundreds of single and family-sized meal portions which are cooked from whole ingredients at the Getty Avenue facility, flash-frozen and delivered to homes across the nation. Contemporary health and wellness movements have created a niche for Filippone’s business, he said, but the "passion" for healthy cooking has "always been there." "I live the lifestyle," said Filippone, of Cliffside Park. "I’m going to be 46 years old and I can certainly say that [a healthy diet] has enha

Some foods taste so good while we're eating them, but can leave us feeling blah, bloated and feeling guilty just moments after we've brushed away the crumbs. But other foods are scientifically shown to lift our spirits. Here are five foods that will make you feel good right away! 1. Raw walnuts and cashews An ounce of walnuts has four grams of protein (which fills you up and helps keep blood-sugar levels steady) and two grams of fiber (also helps fill you up), according to New York nutritionist Elisa Zied, registered dietitian and author of "Younger Next Week." RELATED: A daily handful of walnuts may lower fatal heart attack risk They're also a good source of magnesium and phosophorus: Having low levels of magnesium has been linked to increased risk of depression , while high levels of magnesium have been linked to reduced symptoms of depression. Walnuts also contain cell-protecting antioxidants and are low in carbohydrates, which means they won'

Calum Von Moger's 13 Tips For Bigger Biceps

صورة
For biceps-training advice, we went straight to the guy with the big guns. Here's what Calum von Moger—World Fitness Federation's Mr. Universe—had to say. It comes with the territory that when you're jacked, people are going to ask you questions about your training. For World Fitness Federation's 2014 Mr. Universe winner Calum von Moger, that means endless queries about how he trains his mountainous biceps. We posed 13 questions to the 24-year-old Aussie, who has now made the requisite relocation to Los Angeles in search of bodybuilding fame and glory. 1. What's The Most Overrated Biceps Movement? 10 Mistakes To Avoid While You're Still Young

Use these smart training tips to get you bigger and stronger, even in your later years. As a guy who's been in the iron game for many years, I can't tell you how often I've read or heard something like the following: "When I was a young lifter, I was so stupid. I don't know how I ever made gains!" Quite frankly, even a lousy, borderline-unsafe training program will produce results if you hit it hard, don't skip many workouts, and continue to do so for years. But there is some truth to that "young and stupid" sentiment. Young lifters often do things that don't hurt them too much at the time, but their "sins of youth" often come back to haunt them like a scorching case of herpes in their 30s and 40s. Looking back at my own lifting history, I did tons of stuff wrong, but not every mistake was a huge deal. Sure, I probably beat myself up too much on occasion, but I was enthusiastic and loved the gym. However, had I known bet
